God Saves His People

EXODUS

Use the following thoughts and questions to have a spiritual conversation as a family. Don’t

emphasize having the right answer, but focus on spending time discussing the Word as a family.

SCRIPTURE

Exodus 13:17-22; 14:10-14, 19-22, 26-31.

SESSION SUMMARY

In this week’s session, we studied the Red Sea crossing in Exodus 14. God made a way when there was no way, miraculously saving His people from their enemies. God alone could save them, and He did! He personally led them through the sea and drowned the Egyptian army. Here are some of the main things we saw in the story:

• Israel cannot save itself (Ex. 14:10-14).
• God saves them through the sea (Ex. 14:19-22).
• God saves them from the Egyptians (Ex. 14:26-31).

CONVERSATION QUESTIONS

• Why is it important for us to understand that we cannot save ourselves?
• How has God come through for our family in a difficult situation?
• How can we have hope even when facing seemingly impossible obstacles in life?

FAMILY CHALLENGE

Challenge each person to find a story about God coming through for someone facing impossible odds. It could be in the Bible or a modern story of how God healed or delivered someone. Choose a time to gather and share those stories to encourage each other. Then, take a moment to pray for people you know who are going through a challenging time.
