An Example Worth Following

What can we learn from the example of Paul on how to live a life that honors God? Join us this Sunday at CrossWinds Church in Spencer as we consider the answer from 1 Thessalonians 2.

1. Why is it important to have an example to follow in the faith? Who are some people that come to mind when you think of “examples worth following”?
2. What is one takeaway from the sermon and one question that you had after hearing the sermon?
3. Read 1 Thessalonians 2:1–2. Why is perseverance in the midst of suffering important? What makes this ideal hard to live out?
4. Read 1 Thessalonians 2:3–6. Discuss the concept of stewardship. With what have you been entrusted? How is that similar and different than what Paul describes here? What does it mean to live for an audience of one?
5. Read 1 Thessalonians 2:7–8. Discuss the two pictures Paul uses in these verses. How can we increasingly live out both in our lives?
6. Read 1 Thessalonians 2:9–10. What is the connection between hard work and holiness? How does your vocation give you the platform to “showcase” your faith?
7. Read 1 Thessalonians 2:11–12. What does Paul have in mind when he calls himself their spiritual father? How can you encourage others to live for God’s glory?
