  3. Read Mark 5:21–24. Who was Jairus? In what ways did his desperation drive him to faith?
  4. Read Mark 5:24–29. Describe the condition facing this woman. In what ways did her desperation drive her to faith?
  5. Compare the situations of Jairus and the woman. In what ways were they similar? In what ways were they different? Compare their faith? In what ways were they similar? In what ways were they different?
  6. Read Mark 5:30–34. Why does Jesus ask the woman to reveal herself? In what ways would this be terrifying for her? How does her faith grow through the experience?
  7. Read Mark 5:35. Put yourself in Jairus’s shoes. How would you respond to Jesus’s interactions with the woman in the crowd?
  8. Read Mark 5:36. Jairus had faith for Jesus to heal his daughter. What does Jesus ask from him instead?
  9. What is an area of your life where God has said to you, “Don’t fear. Keep believing?”
  10. If you find yourself in a season of hardship, how does this story help you understand what Jesus might be doing in your life? What might Jesus be asking of you and your faith?
