Defining Love
Dear parents,
Use the following thoughts and questions to have a spiritual conversation as a family. Don’t emphasize having the right answer, but focus on spending time discussing the Word as a family.
We have started our series, Love Life. Our first lesson, Defining love, dealt with the general of question of what is love in any relationship. And what does men to love like Jesus. Love is one of those words that means nothing and everything all at the same time. We use it to describe our affections for everything from hamburgers and TV shows too grandmothers and significant others.
Love is self sacrificing. It looks to interest of others first.
Read Philippians 2:1-4 and use the questions as a starting point for discussion with your students.
- Talk about a time when you really experienced love. What happened?
- What are some ways you benefit by loving the people around you?
- When is loving people around you an inconvenience?
- Think of someone who you know might be a social outcast or need a friend. How can you love this person?
