His Goodness Over My Fear

When fear sets in, we doubt ourselves and God. But we don't have to. God calls us to trust Him despite our fears, and rely on Him for the strength to do so. Let's take a look at Acts 18 this morning at CrossWinds Church for encouragement.

1. What does it show us that God continuously and gently reminds his people not to be afraid?

2. What does it look like in your context as a Christian to live differently? Why can that be difficult?

3. What are some ways that following Jesus in the church is costly? What are some things that participating in the mission of God will cost you?

4. Which of these fears do you relate to most right now:

• Fear of being different
• Fear of consequences
• Fear of not being enough

5. Read and discuss this quote.

"Jesus tells us that the work of proclaiming God’s kingdom is dangerous. It takes courage. It demands earnest prayer. It’s more about faith than giftedness, and it requires no resources other than those God provides. It’s a high-stakes spiritual battle, using supernatural weapons. Anyone who’s willing to engage the fight on this level is needed for the cause. Such an adventurer will reap a rare mix of power, humility, and wide-eyed joy."
