Sermon Discussion

  1. Each week in Acts, we remind ourselves that “the reigning King Jesus is still at work in building his kingdom to the ends of the earth.” This is true in Acts and today as well. How have you seen Jesus at work in building his kingdom to the ends of the earth?
  2. What is one takeaway you have from this passage? What will you do with that this week? What is a question you still have after studying this passage?
  3. There are a number of parallels between this passage and the story of the Exodus. What are some that you noticed?
  4. Read Acts 12:5, 12. What can we learn from the early church about prayer? What does “earnest prayer” look like? Does this describe your prayer life? How can you be more “earnest”?
  5. What are some of the ways that this passage reveals the power and glory of God over all other powers? What is an area of your life where this is an important reminder for you?
  6. Of the three implications of this passage, which speaks to you most? In what way?
  7. This Time Tomorrow: How does this passage transform your thoughts, actions, or interactions at “this time tomorrow”?
