What does the Bible say about eternity? Join us this Sunday at CrossWinds Church in Spencer as we consider the answer.
Sermon Discussion
- We began our sermon by talking about some misconceptions of eternity. What are some misconceptions you have had? How do these differ with what the Bible actually says?
- What is one takeaway from this study and one question that you had after studying our statement of faith?
- Read Genesis 3:15; Ephesians 1:3–6. Why is it important to remember that the gospel has been God’s plan from the very beginning? How does this change our view of salvation?
- Read 1 Corinthians 15:1–5. According to these verses, how would you define the gospel?
- Our sermon lists three ways that we are to respond to the gospel. What are they?
- In our sermon, we looked at three aspects of faith: “notion” (understanding), “assent” (conviction it is true), and “reliance.” Discuss these three. How are they essential. (Read Romans 4:20–22. How does this passage help us define faith?)
- How does our response to the gospel today influence eternity?
- Who is God laying on your heart to pray for (be as general or as specific with your group as you feel comfortable)? Take some time to pray for thsee people as a group.
