  1. Acts encourages us to consider how God is still at work today. What are some ways that you have seen God at work, especially in “bringing his kingdom to the ends of the earth”?
  2. What is one takeaway from the sermon and one question that you had after hearing the sermon?
  3. Read Acts 1:14. What is the significance of the disciples “devoting themselves to prayer” in the days leading up to Pentecost? (cf. also Acts 8:14–17; 9:11–12; 10:4, 9, 30; 13:2–3)
  4. Read Acts 2:1–4; Exodus 19:1–20. What are some of the similarities and differences between these two events? What is the significance of the similarities and differences? What does that tell us about Acts 2?
  5. Read Ezekiel 37:5–10, 24–28. How is this passage fulfilled at Pentecost?
  6. Read Acts 4:8, 31; 6:5; 7:55; 9:17; 11:24; 13:9, 52. What is the significance of being “filled with the Spirit”? In each of these verses, what is the purpose of being filled with the Spirit?
  7. Read Acts 2:6–11. What is the significance of the different nations mentioned here? What is this symbolizing?
  8. What is so significant about the gospel being proclaimed in local dialects? How is this an “unnecessary” miracle? What does that show us about God’s heart for who is welcome into his kingdom?
  9. Read Genesis 11:1–9; Acts 2:1–13. What are some of the similarities and differences between these two passages? What is significant about this?
