Minor Prophets | Hosea

February 2, 2025 Speaker: Jordan Gowing Series: Minor Prophets | A Few Minor Thoughts on the Prophets

Topic: Sunday Morning Teaching Passage: Hosea 11:1–11

What can we learn about God's love? Join us this Sunday at CrossWinds Church in Spencer as we consider the answer from the book of Hosea.

Sermon Discussion

  1. Have you ever studied the book of Hosea before? What did you know of this book before our study?
  2. What is one takeaway from the sermon and one question that you had after hearing the sermon?
  3. Read 1 Peter 1:10. After our study, how would you say that Hosea fulfills Peter’s words? What have you learned from our series in the Minor Prophets over the past two months?
  4. Hosea 11 uses the imagery of a father and a wayward son to compare God’s relationship to his wayward people. What do you find compelling about this picture?
  5. In our sermon, we looked at the theme of “sonship” in the Bible. How does this make the truth of Jesus as the Son of God even more glorious?
  6. Read Hosea 11:8–9. How does God’s heart resolve here give us encouragement when we doubt God’s love?
  7. This Time Tomorrow: How does this passage transform your thoughts, actions, or interactions at “this time tomorrow”?
