1. What would you say the “main point” of Jonah is? How is that different than what is normally portrayed?
2. What is one takeaway from the sermon and one question that you had after hearing the sermon?
3. Read 1 Peter 1:10. After our study, how would you say that Jonah fulfills Peter’s words?
4. Read Jonah 1. Do these verses paint Jonah in a positive or negative light? What are some characteristics that stand out to you?
5. Read Jonah 1:9, 16; Deuteronomy 13:4. What do these verses tell us about the “fear”? Does Jonah actually fear the Lord? How does he stand up to the example of the pagan sailors?
6. Read Jonah 1:17; 3:4–5. What is the difference between the time it takes for Jonah to respond to God compared to Nineveh? 
7. Read Jonah 3:10; Exodus 32:14 and Jonah 4:1–2; Exodus 34:6. What is the book of Jonah trying to do by drawing these connections to Exodus?
8. Read Jonah 4:10–11. The book of Jonah ends with an unanswered question. Discuss God’s question in these verses and its significance for you today.
