2 Thessalonians | Made Worthy of His Calling

September 29, 2024 Speaker: Jordan Gowing Series: 2 Thessalonians | The Lord is Faithful

Topic: Sunday Morning Teaching Passage: 2 Thessalonians 1:11–12

What does our prayer life say about our priorities? What is the end goal of the Christian life? Join us this Sunday as we consider the answer to these questions and more from 2 Thessalonians 1.

Sermon Discussion

  1. In our sermon, Pastor Jordan said, “What we pray about most often reveals our priorities.” What priorities does your prayer life show?
  2. What is one takeaway from the sermon and one question that you had after hearing the sermon?
  3. Read 2 Thessalonians 1:11; Ephesians 4:1; Philippians 1:27; Colossians 1:9–10; 1 Thessalonians 2:11–12. In each of these passages, Paul mentions living “worthy” of the gospel or the kingdom of God. What does it mean to live worthy?
  4. Read 2 Thessalonians 1:11 again. What does Paul mean when he prays that God would “fulfill every resolve for good” in his people?
  5. What are some “dreams” that you have to make much of Jesus? What would it look like to put those dreams into action?
  6. Read 2 Thessalonians 1:12. What does it mean to glorify the name of Jesus? How does living out verse 11 result in verse 12?
  7. This Time Tomorrow: How does this passage transform your thoughts, actions, or interactions at “this time tomorrow”?
