What is core to our identity here at CrossWinds? Join us this Sunday at CrossWinds Church in Spencer as we consider our core values, this week looking at our commitment to the Bible in preaching.

Sermon Discussion

1. Based on your experience with CrossWinds, how have you seen this core value lived out? How can we even more effectively live out this core value as a church and individuals?
2. What is one takeaway from the sermon and one question that you had after hearing the sermon?
3. Discuss the three approaches to preaching (above). Why is expositional preaching core to our identity at CrossWinds?
4. Discuss the four benefits of expositional preaching for a church. How have you seen these to be true at CrossWinds? How have you seen them to be true in your own life?
5. Read 1 Corinthians 15:3–4. Based off these verses, how would you define the gospel?
6. Read Luke 24:25–27, 45. In light of these verses, what do we mean by “gospel-centered Bible teaching”? How does the gospel influence our reading of every passage of Scripture?
7. In our core values, we say that “expositional, gospel-centered Bible teaching is the foundation of church health.” Why is this type of teaching the foundation to church health?
8. Read 2 Timothy 3:16–17. Discuss the three products of the Bible in our lives (above). How have you seen these to be true?
