  2. Read Psalm 14:1–3; Prov. 1:1–7. What is a fool? According to this definition, what areas of your life are you prone to live foolishly?
  3. Read 1 Samuel 25:2–3, 10–11, 36–38; Luke 12:13–21. What does the example of Nabal and Jesus’s parable teach us about foolishness and wealth? How can you avoid being a fool with your wealth and possessions?
  4. Read 1 Samuel 25:13, 21–22. In what ways is David acting like a fool? Compare David here to David in 1 Samuel 17 and 24. What is different? What warning does David’s life provide for us?
  5. Read 1 Samuel 25:26, 30–31. How does Abigail remind David of God’s promises and reign? Who is someone you can remind this week of God’s promises and reign?
  6. Read 1 Samuel 25:32–35. How does David respond when he is confronted with blindspots? Take some to pray for God to give you eyes to see your blindspots and a willingness to repent in light of those blindspots.
