1. Read 1 Corinthians 1:23. What makes the gospel message so hard for people to swallow?
2. What is one highlight from the sermon and one question that you had after hearing the sermon?
3. Read 2 Timothy 4:3–4. How have you seen these verses fulfilled in our context? What are some “passions” that people will pursue in turning their backs on the Bible?
4. Read 2 Timothy 4:5. What does it mean to be sober-minded? On a scale of 1–10, how effective are you at being self-controlled?
5. What does Paul mean when he tells Timothy to, “fulfill your ministry”? What would you say is “your ministry”? How might you live out your calling in the church and our community?
