One theologian once said that the greatest modern threat to the church's view of the Bible is not doubting its inerrancy (the belief that it is free of errors) or infallibility (the belief that it will accomplish its purposes) but instead its sufficiency.
We see this all the time today, with people turning to places other than the Bible for the hope of a greater glimpse of God. As we see in 1 Timothy 1, this is not a new problem.
