The Story classes for Children & Youth on Sunday Mornings at CrossWinds Spencer

Have you ever desired to read through the entire Bible? Do you wish for a deeper understanding of Scripture and how it fits together as one book? Do you see value in training people of all ages in core truths of God’s Word?

CrossWinds is excited to announce the new CrossWinds Kids & CrossWinds Youth classes, starting this fall: it’s called The Story. The Story is a 31-week class in which members of all ages study the Bible in chronological order. The curriculum provides countless advantages to those who participate:

  1. It teaches the Bible. CrossWinds is a church that faithfully proclaims truth from God’s Word. Studying through this class will hopefully increase a love for God’s Word in individuals and a desire to test all other teaching against what the Bible says.
  2. It’s designed to benefit the entire family. The Story is designed for all age groups. Each age level learns the same content on the same day in their respective classes, which allows for the entire family to discuss the material and grow together. It gives parents not only a bridge for spiritual training with their children, but also equips them with knowledge and resources to provide the training that their children need.
  3. It increases Biblical literacy. Many people have a desire to read through the entire Bible but have never quite made it to the end. Because the curriculum is abridged and chronological, it is easier to read and remain engaged. Participating in a class also provides accountability to stay committed to studying the Word of God.
  4. It promotes a clearer picture of the overarching story of the Bible. As people engage with the text in chronological order, they come to view the stories of the Bible as less about individual units and more as working together to tell the greater story of God’s love for humanity and His work in providing salvation for all.
  5. It is an excellent draw for the unchurched. Many churches who have used this curriculum saw an increase in attendance because of the class’s appeal to those outside the church. As church members become excited about what they are learning in the class, they are more motivated to share with their friends and neighbors, who in turn come to see what it’s all about.
  6. It’s unifying for the entire church. The class provides a platform for connection across the entire church body. Members who invest in the class can continue the discussion during fellowship time on Sundays, at their Life Groups, and at other times of connection during the week.

CrossWinds invites you to join the excitement starting on September 13 at the Spirit Lake campus and September 27 at the Spencer campus! Although the curriculum is 31 weeks long, anyone may join the class at any time and still reap the benefits mentioned above. Studying God’s word will never be in vain.
