- Which of the four Gospels is your favorite? Why? Before today, what did you know about the Gospel of Mark?
- What is one thing highlight from the sermon and one question that you had after hearing the sermon?
- Read Acts 13:4–5, 13; 15:36–40; 2 Timothy 4:11. What can we learn about the reconciliation that takes place between Mark and Paul?
- What can we learn about God’s mercy and patience by looking at the life of John Mark? Share a way that God’s mercy for your past shortcomings encourages you today.
- Read Mark 14:66–72. What can we learn from God’s patience with and mercy toward Peter? How might God use your past shortcomings to encourage others today?
- What are the two questions Mark asks about Jesus? (Question 1 from chapters 1–8 and question 2 from chapters 9–16.) Why are these questions important to wrestle with?
