How do we discover God's will for our lives? Join us this Sunday at CrossWinds Church in Spencer as we look at Acts 15 and how God guided the early church.

Sermon Discussion Questions

  1. What is one thing highlight from the sermon and one question that you had after hearing the sermon?
  2. Has your understanding of God’s will changed during this series? If so, in what way(s)?
  3. Read Acts 1:21–26; 8:1, 4–5, 26–27; 9:10–12, 27; 17:16; 21:4. What do these verses tell us about how God revealed his plan to the early church? Is there anything we can conclude from these different examples?
  4. Read Acts 15:1–5; Galatians 2:11–14. Why was the Jerusalem Council of Acts 15 so important?
  5. The sermon laid out three given to the early church in making a decision found in Acts 15:6–29. List these gifts. How has God given you similar gifts today?
  6. In what ways is the Holy Spirit important in decision making? (Read Romans 8:26–30; 12:1–3; Ephesians 5:17–18)
  7. In what ways does Scripture guide us in decision making? (Read Psalm 119:97–104)
  8. Why is the local church so important for decision making?
  9. Think of a decision (no matter how big or small) facing you this coming week. What can you learn from the example of the early church for your decisions?
