  1. What comes to mind when you think of “mystery”? Read Dan. 2:17–19. How is “mystery” defined?
  2. Read Col. 1:21. What does it mean to be “alienated” from God? How does this “hostility” of mind express itself today? How did it express itself in your life before becoming a Christian?
  3. Read Acts 9:4. We learned today that when we suffer, Jesus suffers with us. Is this encouraging? How does this give us peace in our hardships?
  4. Read Col. 1:29–2:1; 4:12. What does “struggle” mean here? What would it mean for you to “struggle” for others like Paul and Ephaphras?
  5. Read Col. 1:26–28. What are the two parts of the “mystery” of the gospel? Which of these stands out to you more?
  6. Read Gal. 2:20; Rom. 7:17; 1 Cor. 6:12–17; Col. 3:11. What does “Christ in you” mean in each?
  7. Read Ephesians 2:11–22. How is the gospel good news for Gentiles as well as Jews?
  8. What would it look like for you to live out the “mystery of the gospel” this week?
